Bat Mitzvah cards

Twins! So alike and yet so different. The challenge was to find a way of doing two similar but not the same cards for them. Those have a pocket on the left side under the names to hold a gift certificate.

Graduation gift card

What better than Dr. Seuss words to send off a newly graduate? This card has a pocket to hold a check or gift certificate.

Girls care package

Yes, the same goes with my girl, I have to do girly things this time, much easier. So far, I made the mom's cards and lollipop flowers presented in an "Edible Arrangement" I saved. Still to come heart shaped brownies, and I know I will find something else to add.

Boys care package

The only fun thing about having a boy in college, is when you meet with the moms of their friends (who became your friends over the years,) to make a care package party. We all bring 10 things and put one of each in a box to mail to our sweet-craving sons. It got to be more fun for the moms than the boys... we gather around food and share the latest gossip on our kids.
So this year, I decided to re-wrap (Valentine's day style) a Hershey's chocolate bar and to hide a lollipop in a sailing boat. Who says it is not age appropriate. Boys be boys: sailboat, hammer and cars, that is what they do not outgrow.
Still to come: a card, (as soon as i find a way to make Valentine's day card, masculine), so that the moms can write a little note to their sons. And a heart shaped brownie, to make just before the party date....

Un zalamero!

Who would know that at my grand age I could still learn something? My son proved me wrong. This was for a Spanish project: shooting a video to explain how to make a zalamero (for those of you without a 9th grader, it is kind of a "super milk shake".) Complete with milk, apple juice, turkey slices, ice cream, gummy worm, banana, oreo cookies, monster drink, cool whip, chewy bar and let's not forget "ice".
